Founder of a Club for Adopted Students With Over Forty Members
Coming to the University of Washington as a Chinese adoptee, I have always envisioned creating a space where adopted students could feel seen, understood, and supported.
I founded the Adoptee Circle to provide a safe place for members to connect, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships. The group has grown to over forty members and three leads, hosting consistent weekly events. I am deeply grateful to provide a community where understanding and belonging thrive, particularly for those who may have felt isolated throughout their lives.
Since establishing this group, I have recruited and led a team of co-leads to organize and develop new initiatives. Leading the Adoptee Circle has taught me the value of leadership, community-building, active listening, and designing with empathy for people’s unique experiences.
